AMAZON MONITRON TRANSITION

Moving off Amazon Monitron without losing monitoring

Amazon Monitron is no longer available to new customers. If your sites run it today, our Amazon Monitron Transition Plan maps each sensor to a replacement and keeps alerts and work orders flowing while you switch. Planning the transition costs you nothing.

Transition Plan

How the transition works

  1. 1

    Inventory

List every Monitron sensor and gateway by site, asset and position, with its install date so you know where each warranty stands.

  2. 2

    Choose replacements

Pick a compatible vibration and temperature sensor per asset, or move to other AWS IoT services and industrial IoT devices.

  3. 3

    Keep the history

Export Monitron measurements and alert history so trends and baselines carry over.

  4. 4

    Run side by side

Install replacements on the most critical assets first and compare readings before switching off the old sensors.

  5. 5

    Move the workflow

Point alerts, work-order creation and dashboards at the new data so technicians keep the same alert-to-repair routine.

Questions about the Monitron transition

Is Amazon Monitron still available?

Not to new customers. AWS closed Amazon Monitron to new customers on October 31, 2024, sold devices until July 2025, and says it will honor the 5-year device warranty, including service support.

What does the Transition Plan cost?

Nothing. We plan the transition with you at no cost. Replacement sensors and any implementation work are quoted separately once you have chosen a path.

Do we have to replace every sensor at once?

No. We start with the most critical assets and run old and new sensors side by side, so monitoring never stops.

Can we keep our existing alert and work order process?

Yes. The transition moves alerts and work-order creation to the new data source, so technicians keep the same alert-to-repair routine.
